The SFC appointed Mr. Jaw-Chyuan Chu, Mr. Wen-Yeu Wang, Ms. Hui-Ya Shen, Mr. Shean-Bii Chiu, Mr. Chiu-Jung Hung, Ms. Shiau-Ru Ma, Mr. Shyh-Shing Chang, Mr. Tai-Ping Chuang, Mr. Peter Huang, Ms. Yu-Jane Liu, Mr. Len-Yu Liu, Mr. Fu-Jiing Shiue, Mr. Miles Hsieh, Mr. Kuo-Sung Hsieh, and Simon Hsieh as the 15 members of the mediation committee, in accordance with Article 2 of the Act. Directors and supervisors held their first extraordinary meeting, appointing Jaw-Chyuan Chu the Center’s chairman and approved the resignation of President Samuel J.S. Hsu, effective on April 15, 2003. Chu also took position of the Center’s resident while he assumed the chairmanship following Hsu’s leaving on April 15, 2003.

The Center dealt with the compensation request of the shareholders of Hwa Hsia Leasing on March 17- April 4, 2003, and filed a class-action lawsuit on April 17, 2003.

Directors and supervisors held their third joint meeting, approving the guidelines for dealing with class-action lawsuits or arbitrations and the guidelines for the Center’s mediation committee and the criteria for selecting the committee’s members. Meanwhile, it took the project for filing lawsuit and compensation request for the shareholders of the Hwa Hsia Leasing.
